Is that big enough for you? I was named an OFFICIAL 2013 RITE AID CLEVELAND MARATHON BLOGGER. I submitted my name and blog for consideration and the announcement came today that I was selected!!!!!! I can’t add enough capital letters or enough exclamation points to show how excited I am about this honor. I may be irrationally excited about the email I got today. But, with the excitement comes the minor fear that I’ve committed to this race with a community of racers watching this time around. And maybe that’s a good thing!
So what have I gotten myself in to? I’ve made a commitment to blog once every two weeks about my training for the 2013 race and to share my blog with the Rite Aid staff so they can pass it on to their followers. I will also have to write a follow-up to the race within 48 hours of finishing and add my official badge to my blog. I think I may also get some type of special t-shirt and an invitation to pre-race activities, but the specifics on all of that are lost on me now that I’ve won. T-shirt or not, I’m thrilled to share my race training experience and the story of my first marathon with so many people. Tonight, I’m thinking of my dad and the reasons I started this blog and picked this race. I’m lucky to have so many friends and relatives supporting me, but I still wish I had the chance to tell him about everything. Miss you Dad. Thanks for getting me started on this beautiful journey.
And now, to go run. That’s the name of this blog after all, right?
You ROCK Jess!
That was totally my reaction as well, just super excited! I’ll be looking forward to hearing about your training!
