My husband and I celebrated our 11th anniversary this month, and, as a special gift, he made me a mix CD. It was one of the best gifts I’ve received in a long time-thoughtful, inexpensive and fun! I dusted off my CD player and cranked up the speakers and loved every minute of listening to the music. I think the best part was not knowing what song would come next and being surprised or laughing out loud at some of his choices. I have an eclectic musical taste. I love pop music, classic rock, 90s bands, country, rap, etc. I love music that inspires me to get running, to fight through a tough workout or to simply get through a tough day. My last half-marathon playlist included songs ranging from Eminem to Adele, from Rage Against the Machine to Florence & The Machine. The variety keeps me entertained and each song can offer a different reason to keep going.
So here’s my first giveaway plan! You can win a $20 Itunes gift card to help make your own exercise playlist by entering with these simple actions:

I have a lot of the same music on my mp3 player, but I plan on getting some new stuff for the marathon. My new fave is Kiss You by One Direction. A little teenybopper, I know, but the song is so damn catchy!
Steph-Phil put that song on my anniversary CD! It was hilarious when it started playing. It is super catchy. I love pop music! It gets me going, which is all that counts!
YAY!!! This made me smile. Your hubby has good taste in music, too 🙂

Some of my favorite running tunes are: Daylight by Matt & Kim, Flathead and Chelsea Dagger by the Fratellis, Salute Your Salution by the Raconteurs, Blue Orchid by the White Stripes, I’m Shakin’ by Jack White, Womanizer by Britney Spears, Pon de Replay by Rhianna, Clint Eastwood (Ed Case /Sweetie Remix) by the Gorillaz… I could go on and on… I love music when I run. Beautiful People by BEP and Macy Gray is a great warm up song!
I hope you do a list of all your running tunes when you are done because I’m always looking for new songs to add to my running playlist. That day I asked on Twitter, you were the only one who replied! LOL!
Great idea! I’ll do that once the giveaway is done!
I listened to “My Body” by Young The Giant during every training run for my marathon. It kept me going even while my body was protesting due to injury.

My favorite running\exercise song is Kanye West’s “Mercy”. The first two verses of the song are just OK, but the beat really kicks up on Kanye’s verse and it makes me run like the ring. Before the race, I try to plan out my playlist so that this song will come on during the end of my last mile.
I have several of West’s songs on my list! Love “Amazing” from 808s & Heartbreak!

I just spent 3 hours making a new playlist last week. I like fast, silly songs – like You Look Better When I’m Drunk.
